Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal Presentation
Wed, 22nd Jun 2022On Sunday 19 June 2022 team members and their family gathered at Moffat Mountain Rescue Team base to be presented with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Lord Lieutenant of Dumfriesshire, Fiona Armstrong.
A warm day greeted the team and their family who were able to enjoy the sunshine and look round the teams base and three mountain rescue vehicles.
After introductions 23 members of the team who had more than 5 years service on the callout list were presented with their medals and were able to share some experiences with the Lord Lieutenant.
The team was also joined by Inspector Michael McGaughey from Police Scotland Dumfries and Galloway Division. The team are called to incidents by the Police who help with resources and coordination on many occasions.
The team would like to thank the Lord Lieutenant in taking the time to meet team members and their families as well as presenting the Queen’s Jubilee Medals.
