Callout to the Devil’s Beef Tub
Sun, 9th May 2021At 1530 on 9 May 2021 Police Scotland asked for the assistance of Moffat Mountain Rescue to rescue a walker who had fallen and broken their ankle near the Devils Beef Tub near Moffat. Using phone find technology, where the police and the team can send a text to the person’s phone and find their position, the team was able to get a position for the casualty.
A hasty team was sent to the casualty’s location with a shelter and drugs to control the casualty’s pain. Another team assembled the team’s stretcher and wheel and started the ascent to the casualties location.
The casualty was packaged into the team’s casualty bag and stretcher and wheeled off by the team back to the mountain rescue ambulance at Corehead. The team met an ambulance at Ericstane farm for onward transport to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The team wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
