Callout to Paraglider Crash on Tinto
Tue, 20th Jul 2021Just after 1500 Police Scotland requested the team’s assistance to recover a paraglider who had crashed near the summit of Tinto Hill.
The team responded with 3 vehicles and 16 team members along with Sottish Ambulance Service, a HM Coastguard helicopter Rescue 199 and the Police Scotland MRT. Initial team members on scene were able to liaise with the rescue helicopter which was able to land near the casualty and recover him to the helicopter.
The casualty was transferred by the helicopter to a landing area near the Tinto car park and transferred to a land ambulance for onward transfer to hospital.
