Lost walker successfully found near St Mary’s Loch

At 1430 on 31 July 2022 the team was asked by Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and Police Scotland to assist in the search for a missing person who had been camping with friends at St Mary’s Loch in the Scottish Borders.

The search turned into a multi-team search which also involved SARDA Southern Scotland , Borders Water Rescue Team and a Police Scotland Mountain Rescue Team.

During the search we got a lucky break when one of the teams on the hill came across a walker on the Southern Upland Way who had seen the missing person earlier in the day without realising he was missing. This changed the areas we were searching, and soon after that one of the search teams located the missing person tired but otherwise ok.
