Multiagency response to stranded swimmer on Loch Skene
Sat, 25th Jul 2020Tonight the team worked as part of a multi agency response to a person stuck on a small island on Loch Skene in the Moffat Hills. The team deployed team members onto the hill alongside a water rescue team from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Rescue 199, a Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter from Prestwick was fortunately able to winch the casualty from the island as the team and fire and rescue arrived. That saved us a difficult extraction and stretch carry!
The helicopter brought the casualty to the Grey Mare’s Tail car park where the Scottish Ambulance Service were able to take him to hospital. The team were supported as usual by Dumfries Galloway Police Division and Police Scotland MRT
