Night Callout for missing vulnerable person
Sun, 1st Sep 2024At 23:56 on Saturday 31st August Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway asked for the assistance of Moffat Mountain Rescue Team to aid in the Search and Rescue of a missing vulnerable person in the Ruthwell area.
16 members of Moffat MRT responded to the Callout attending the rendezvous location. Nith Inshore Rescue and HM Coastguard were also asked to assist. Alongside members of Dumfries and Galloway Police, the team was swiftly split into groups and tasked with searching designated areas.
After a coordinated search effort the missing person was located by Police in the early hours of Sunday morning. The individual was assessed by a Moffat MRT team doctor before being handed over to a Scottish Ambulance Service crew for ongoing treatment and further assessment at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
